Jan Molby

Jan Molby

Former Professional Footballer, After Dinner Speaker, Guest Apperances

When Graeme Souness left Liverpool in 1984, the manager at the time decided to replace him with the Danish International Jan Molby. He signed from Ajax for a transfer fee of £225,000.

As well as being hailed as one of finest midfield players of his generation by Kenny Daglish, Jan Molby was also an expert penalty taker (and Liverpool certainly got their fair share of penalties).

In November 1986 Jan Molby earned a niche in the record books with a penalty hat trick against Coventry in the League Cup.

Jan Molby made 52 appearances in Liverpool's League and FA Cup double season of 1985/86 before playing for Denmark in the World Cup Finals in Mexico.

He won a second title medal in 1990 and another F A Cup medal in 1992. He became the first foreigner to serve 10 years with one English club before becoming Swansea player boss in 1996.

After various spells in management Jan Molby decided to entertain audiences on the after dinner circuit.

Listening to a Dane with a Scouse accent coupled with interesting stories from those glory days at Liverpool make Jan Molby one of the most sought after dinner speakers on the Sportsmans Club circuit.
