Ray Parlour

Ray Parlour

Former Professional Footballer, After Dinner Speaker, Presentation Night Host, Guest Apperances

Not many footballers can be compared to the great Pele. However Ray Parlour was tagged 'Romford Pele' by his fellow playing professional Marc Overmars.

He served his apprenticeship in the youth side and broke into the Arsenal 1st team in January 1992 making his debut in a match against Liverpool which they lost 2-0.

Ray Parlour left Highbury on a high note in the summer of 2004, shortly after Wenger's 'Invincibles' had completed an unbeaten title campaign. He was no superstar but remains one of the most underrated – and highly decorated – players in Arsenal's history

As well as appearing regulary on Sky TV with the likes of Paul Merson and Phil Thompson, Ray Parlour is also carving out a career on the after dinner circuit.

He tells audiences stories of his and his fellow professionals playing career under Arsene Wegner which is proving very popular.
