Tony played over 600 games scoring over 240 goals for the likes of West Ham United, Everton, Leicester City, Millwall, Norwich, Birmingham City and Barnet.
Tony Cottee was a natural goal scorer at West Ham and quickly formed a deadly partnership with Frank McAvennie. He was proudly voted the PFA Young Player of the Year in 1986, which lead to Everton smashing the British transfer record for his services 1988, paying West Ham a fee of £2.2 million!
His career at Goodison Park career couldn't have got off to a better start bagging a hat-trick on his debut.
Tony went on to form a number of deadly striking partnerships at Everton with the likes Graeme Sharp and Peter Beardsley.
In 1994 Tony returned to his beloved West Ham before moving out to Selangor of Malaysia, winning the Malaysian FA Cup and the Malaysia Cup in 2006.
He remained there for only ten months before returning to England with Leicester City when he was snapped up by Martin O'Neill for £500,000. In 2000 he won the first ever piece of silverware of his career in the Worthington Cup Final win over Tranmere Rovers.
He moved to Norwich City before later taking over as player-manager of Barnet in League Two. It was a difficult period in the North London Club's hot seat and a week after he resigned from underhill, he put pen to paper on a deal with Millwall, a deal which sparked a memorable season as Tony became only the 2nd player to have played for a different team in each of the top four divisions of English football during the same season.
Tony was capped on seven occasions for England and eight times for the Under 21 side, he now spends his time as a commentator and pundit on Sky Sports and as great after dinner speaker suitable for any event.
He is a keen Golfer and proves very popular on the Celebrity Golf Corporate Dinners and Golf Days.
